Job Description:

Career Start is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanics in the Baldwinsville, NY area for the 1st and 2nd shift. The 1st shift is 6 am to 4 pm and the 2nd shift is 2 pm to 11 pm. 

The Maintenance Mechanic will primarily be responsible for ensuring machinery downtime is kept to a minimal amount. The Maintenance Mechanic must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair production line equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic should have the knowledge/skill of reading and interpreting blueprints, machine assembly, and have manufacturing equipment maintenance experience.

Benefits and Pay of Maintenance Mechanic: 

The pay for the maintenance mechanic will be no less than $28/hour with a quarterly bonus up to 5% of annual pay (Based on safety, attendance, company profits and quality of work)


Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic:
  • Attend seminars, workshops and classes on maintenance related subjects and teach others.
  • Respond immediately to production requests. Assess equipment, perform adjustments, repair/replace as needed.
  • Make modifications and perform upkeep on existing equipment.
  • Support a full range of complex layout, assembly, and precise installation for new and used equipment.
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Keep legible, detailed, and accurate records and logs.
  • Minimize downtime by utilizing skills to create operational efficiencies.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of machines and facility electrical and mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, chilling/cooling, compressed air, water supply and other equipment

Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).  Electrical/mechanical trade school (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance experience  
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, including blueprints and machine assembly.
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends and rotate shifts, as assigned.
Must be able to operate man lifts, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
